Trip Overview

Day 1

Arrival in El Salvador

¡Bienvenidos a El Salvador! Your Trip Leader will meet you at El Salvador Monseñor Óscar Arnulfo Romero International Airport (SAL) in San Salvador at 1:00 p.m. and escort you to your hotel via the included transportation.

As you arrive, prepare yourself for an exciting city tour that will take you through the enchanting historic center of El Salvador. This place will allow you to immerse yourself in the rich culture and history as you explore the charming streets, bustling plazas, and stunning architecture that tell the story of this remarkable city.

You’ll spend the night in San Salvador before continuing your adventure into the countryside along the Flower Route.

Day 2

Cerro Verde National Park and Flower Route

Today, we’ll depart San Salvador and visit stunning Cerro Verde National Park in the Apaneca Lamatepec Biosphere Reserve. Here, you’ll have breathtaking views of the Window to Nature Pathway and cloud forest, filled with a rich biodiversity.

Next, explore the famous Flower Route (Ruta de las Flores), a scenic trail through charming mountain towns and lush coffee plantations, where you can savor authentic Salvadoran culture.

As you arrive in the fascinating town of Apaneca, you'll quickly find yourself enchanted by its picturesque streets and atmosphere. The cozy, rustic architecture and the friendly smiles of the locals create an inviting ambiance that makes you feel right at home. Enjoy the next two nights in family-run countryside cabñas.

Day 3

Flower Route (Ruta de las Flores)

Today, you will visit a local coffee farm to learn about the process of growing, harvesting, and preparing a cup of coffee. The farm is family-run; the father explains the cultivation process, the sons demonstrate how it's done, and the mother prepares you a delicious country lunch.

This coffee-growing training center supports small and medium producers in learning about sustainable coffee production.

After lunch, you’ll continue the Flower Route and visit the village of Nahuizalco, known for its wicker and tulle fabric craftsmanship. Here, Nahuizalcan artisans create a diverse range of products, including furniture, ornaments, hats, mats, and more, making it the ideal place to purchase sustainably produced souvenirs.

Day 4

El Zonte Beach Day

We’ll set off to explore the stunning beaches along the Pacific coast of El Salvador, where the golden sands meet the blue waves. Today, we'll bask in the sun on one of El Salvador’s most famous beaches–El Zonte.

Adventure seekers can learn to surf amidst the rolling waves. Whether you choose to ride the waves, enjoy the comfort of a private beach club, or take a dip in one of the inviting pools, your relaxation is guaranteed. This day promises an unforgettable mix of sun, surf, and serenity in a breathtaking setting.

After the beach, we’ll return to San Salvador for our last night out as a group in the city. We’ll enjoy a delicious dinner and seek out the best Latin nightlife in the country.

Day 5

Departure from El Salvador

When you wake up, don’t forget to reflect on your adventure over a final breakfast and coffee in El Salvador.

Our last stop is at Devil's Door. This site is known for the crack formed between two cliffs on Cerro El Chulo, providing breathtaking views of the capital, the Pacific Ocean, Lake Ilopango, and the San Vicente (Chichontepec) Volcano. There are also several legends surrounding its formation.

As our travel ends, we hope you feel refreshed after spending five days as part of our community. But remember, the adventure doesn’t end here–stay in touch for more adventures by becoming part of our online and offline community, which shares travel resources and hosts local meetups in cities near you!
